Former Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who pleaded guilty to desertion last week for walking off his base in Afghanistan, says the U.S. Army has treated him worse than the Taliban:

In an article titled “Bowe Bergdahl: the homecoming from hell, world exclusive interview,” The Sunday Times of London quoted Bergdahl from an exclusive article:
“At least the Taliban were honest enough to say, ‘I’m the guy who’s gonna cut your throat.’ Here, it could be the guy I pass in the corridor who’s going to sign the paper that sends me away for life. We may as well go back to kangaroo courts and lynch mobs.”
Rather than rip apart Bergdahl’s desertion, then-President Barack Obama’s controversial release of the “Taliban Five” in exchange for his release, and defend the U.S. military, let’s just let Donald Trump Jr. handle this, shall we?
How does the Taliban treat their deserters? I imagine it would be different if you got 6 of their guys killed. https://t.co/72OgC4CRZ2

Trump Jr. drops mic, walks off stage.
Sometimes, there is nothing more to add. This was one of those times.
Incidentally, Trump’s claim of six troops dying while searching for Bergdahl, which has been widely circulated since his release, has been denied by the Army.
Still, his point about Taliban deserters couldn’t have been better.
